Widely seen as the UK workplace sector's ‘design bible’, the British Council for Offices have strengthened its sustainability targets in an update to its influential guide to specification for offices.

 

Reflecting the rapid progress in the sector, the guide’s minimum BREEAM target rating has been upgraded from ‘very good’ to ‘excellent’. It has also introduced the NABERS UK building certification standard, recommending that offices should target a five-star rating for new schemes.

 

NABERS provides a rating for offices, helping building owners understand their building’s performance and providing a benchmark for progress.
