Sustainable Procurement
A Sustainable Procurement Policy (SPP) is a set of guidelines that are put in place to help organisations meet their needs for goods, services, works and utilities in a way that generates benefits not only for the organisation, but also for the society, economy and environment.
By integrating sustainability into procurement policies and practices, inclusive of supply chains, organisations will have the tool kit to manage risks and create opportunities for sustainable environmental, economic and social development.
Certified frequently work with developers and contractors to develop a clear, applicable, and relevant framework for the responsible sourcing of materials, goods and services that can be used to aid in sustainable procurement. The plan may be prepared and adopted at an organisational level but can be tailored to be made site/project specific where applicable.
