Situated in the heart of Aberdeen on Causewayend, this state-of-the-art student residence provides 173 fully self-contained studio bedrooms, each featuring a compact kitchenette, en-suite shower room, bed, and study area. Designed by student housing specialists Eco-Res and GWP Architecture, the project embodies sustainability at its core. The building incorporates a glazed central light well to enhance communal ground floor spaces, including social breakout areas, a reception, laundrette, and secure cycle storage.

Constructed using an innovative off-site prefabricated Light Gauge Steel (LGS) system, the development significantly reduces construction waste and environmental impact. Its energy strategy features passive design, low-energy systems, and a Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHP), achieving a remarkable 56% reduction in carbon emissions compared to baseline requirements.

This is Scotland’s highest-rated BREEAM student residential building and the first to achieve BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ at the Design Stage. Shortlisted for a BREEAM 2018 award, it exemplifies cutting-edge sustainable design and construction.
