Taxi House in Westminster is a landmark canal-side development by Cheyne Capital, set to deliver 332 homes alongside a wellness centre, restaurant, cinema, and vibrant communal spaces, with completion due in 2025.

Challenge

Originally targeting BREEAM 'Excellent', the project team made the ambitious decision to pursue BREEAM 'Outstanding', a standard achieved by fewer than 1% of non-domestic buildings in the UK. Delivering this level of sustainability within a dense, central London site, while also incorporating significant public realm improvements and extensive amenity space, required a highly coordinated and forward-thinking approach.

Outcome & Solution

We supported the team in raising the project’s sustainability ambitions, helping to shift the target from BREEAM 'Excellent' to 'Outstanding'. Our role included providing BREEAM Accredited Professional and Assessor services throughout the process. The development now stands as a leading example of environmentally and socially responsible real estate, with a new public space that reconnects the community with the Grand Union Canal. Taxi House reflects Cheyne Capital’s ongoing commitment to delivering sustainable, inclusive urban regeneration.
