The BREEAM Awards 2025 are taking place tomorrow and we’re proud to share that we’ve been shortlisted for Best Assessor Company. This recognition alone is an incredible honour and a great opportunity to reflect on some of the landmark projects we’ve had the privilege to work on.
Across the UK and around the world, we’ve been supporting pioneering schemes that push the boundaries of sustainability in the built environment. Here are just a few highlights...
Three Chamberlain Square, Birmingham
Grounded in sustainability and shaped by a distinctive ‘inside outside’ workplace ethos, Three Chamberlain Square is set to be one of the most sustainable commercial buildings in Birmingham city centre.
From low carbon materials and construction methods to a long term operational strategy centred around energy performance, wellbeing and carbon reduction, the project stands as a beacon for sustainable development in the Midlands. With generous natural light, ventilation, 200 bike spaces, dedicated changing facilities and all electric power and heating, it reflects the needs of the modern occupier.
We are proud to have developed and assessed the scheme’s BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ strategy which makes it the first building in the West Midlands to achieve this level of certification.
Birla Niraaya, India
A true milestone for BREEAM and for sustainable development in Mumbai, Birla Niraaya is the first scheme in the country to achieve BREEAM certification and at the ‘Outstanding’ level. It sets a bold precedent for future developments across the subcontinent and demonstrates the global relevance of BREEAM principles.

AES Seal, Australia
The first BREEAM certified project in Brisbane, Australia, AES Seal achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’. This is a landmark achievement for sustainability in the region. From the outset, we worked closely with the local team to embed BREEAM into the fabric of the project.

This was a collective effort involving cross-continent collaboration, a steep learning curve and unwavering commitment from the client, design team and contractors. The result is a bold statement about what is possible in Australasia when global sustainability standards are applied with intent.
Taxi House, Westminster
Due for completion in 2025, Taxi House will become the UK’s first co-living development to achieve BREEAM ‘Outstanding’. Initially targeting ‘Excellent’, the project team raised their ambitions and delivered even more.
The scheme includes a new public space along the waterfront, with cafés, performance areas and retail, unlocking access to the canal for the first time. It reflects Cheyne Capital’s commitment to responsible and socially impactful real estate development, coupled with innovative sustainability.
The Cargo Building, Liverpool
A milestone in residential sustainability, The Cargo Building is the first residential scheme to achieve BREEAM In Use certification, with a rating of ‘Excellent’ under the new version 6 criteria.

We worked with Federated Hermes, Savills and the BRE to assess a fully residential building using innovative interim performance analysis and newly developed reporting systems. It is a powerful example of how BREEAM In Use can be adapted to meet the needs of the residential sector.
As we look ahead to the awards tomorrow, we would like to thank every client, project team and collaborator who shares our commitment to building a better and more sustainable world. Being shortlisted is a celebration of the collective effort behind each of these pioneering schemes.
See you at The BREEAM Awards 2025!
