Grove Crescent is a new mixed-use development providing 397 student homes and 22,000 sq ft of creative workspace, designed to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and deliver a vibrant, car-free environment in the heart of the community.
Challenge
The brief required a high-quality, sustainable design that could accommodate significant student housing demand while also supporting the local creative economy. Balancing these priorities, along with creating welcoming public spaces and encouraging low-carbon lifestyles, was central to the project vision.
Outcome & Solution
We supported the project team in embedding sustainability into all aspects of the design, with a focus on achieving a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating. Our work helped ensure the development delivers high-performance student accommodation and flexible workspace, alongside well-designed public areas rich in planting and social value. The car-free approach promotes active travel, while the development as a whole contributes positively to local character and climate goals.
