We supported Dominus with pre-planning sustainability consultancy for the Ibex House hotel redevelopment in the City of London. Our work integrated BREEAM pre-planning input, Whole Life Carbon assessment, Circular Economy principles and the Dominus ESG Framework, helping establish a rigorous environmental strategy for this landmark Art Deco conversion.
Details
Dominus and Cheyne Capital are repositioning Ibex House, a Grade II-listed Art Deco landmark in the City of London, as a high-quality 382-key hotel. The proposals retain 100 % of the building’s substructure and around 90 % of its superstructure, celebrating heritage while reducing embodied carbon and activating ground-floor public spaces including a café, the Peacock pub and an on-site hospitality academy.
Our pre-planning sustainability services helped shape the project’s environmental performance from the outset. We provided BREEAM pre-planning support to inform certification pathways, undertook a Whole Life Carbon assessment to quantify lifecycle emissions and support low-carbon design decisions, and embedded Circular Economy measures to prioritise material reuse, waste reduction and resource efficiency. We also implemented the Dominus ESG Framework to align sustainability delivery with broader organisational commitments and measurable governance outcomes, helping to underpin a robust, future-facing strategy for this sensitive reuse scheme.
