Number One Kirkstall Forge is a 10,300m², seven-storey office development just outside Leeds city centre. Known for its modern design, award-winning credentials, and commitment to digital and environmental excellence.
Challenge
CEG set out to achieve a BREEAM 'Outstanding' rating under the updated BREEAM In-Use International Commercial v6 scheme – a significant challenge, particularly for an existing building. The goal was not only to elevate the sustainability performance of Number One Kirkstall Forge, but to set a benchmark for the wider portfolio. This required aligning day-to-day operations with best-in-class sustainability, wellness, and connectivity standards.
Outcome & Solution
We supported the project team in delivering the first UK office to achieve a BREEAM In-Use International Commercial v6 'Outstanding' rating – and only the seventh globally. Our involvement included guiding CEG through the latest BREEAM In-Use criteria, assessing building performance in detail, and providing targeted improvement strategies. The result is a future-focused workspace that reflects CEG’s commitment to excellence in sustainability and wellbeing, with plans to roll out this success across their broader portfolio.
