Carbon.Climate.Certified delivered the first-ever BREEAM In-Use assessment for a residential building using the new BIU version 6 criteria, while developing new reporting systems and ensuring the building met the highest sustainability standards. We provided expert guidance through the assessment process, securing the highest-rated BREEAM In-Use Residential certification in the UK.

The Cargo Building was awarded the accolade after undergoing a rigorous evaluation process to benchmark and assess its sustainability performance across a selection of key areas, including energy efficiency, health and wellbeing and resilience. The project recorded an impressive overall Part 1 rating of 70.8%, scoring particularly well in the categories of resilience, transport and energy.

Working with ourselves enabled Federated Hermes to identify improvement opportunities in line with assessment criteria. This success led to continued collaboration on further residential projects, including Pomona Wharf.
