Acting as BREEAM Assessor and BREEAM Site AP to the contractor Vinci, we supported the delivery of a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating across a complex, phased development programme. The scheme required coordination across multiple buildings and disciplines, alongside integration with a wider campus masterplan and sensitive landscape setting.
The project required the alignment of energy, materials, ecology, and drainage strategies across a large, multi-block development. This included the implementation of a site-wide energy strategy incorporating combined heat and power, high-performance building fabric, and low-energy systems, alongside responsible material specification and construction practices, including achieving high levels of construction waste diversion.
A strong focus was also placed on biodiversity and landscape integration, with extensive tree planting and the creation of a green spine connecting the development, supporting both ecological value and occupant wellbeing.
This collaboration marks our fourth successful student accommodation project with UPP, contributing to over 2,500 certified student bedrooms, with ongoing projects planned.
